Vendor Spotlight: Flash Fiends, LLC!

Photo booths are all the hype! They are fun and interactive and can help break the ice among guests. Having a photo booth for your wedding is a great way to make sure you're getting authentic pictures of every guest. The photo strips or prints become lasting memories of the special day. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Shayla - co-owner of Flash Fiends.

1. Tell us about your business. How long have you been in business and who are the owners? 

Flash Fiends LLC is a black-owned, family (mother and daughter) and woman-owned business. Our names are Cynthia Rhodes and Shayla Rhodes. We offer photobooth and 360 camera services for any event type in Louisville, KY, and surrounding areas. We have been in business since September 2021. 

2. What got you into this business?  How did you get started?

Our family enjoys celebrating and partying. We ran across the idea of a photo booth and thought how fun it would be to be able to attend parties and make extra money. 

3. Where did you come up with the name? 

We honestly were not sure of a good name, so we used Google to help us out. We thought Flash Fiends would be fitting for people who love to be in front of the camera. 

4. Tell us what makes this photo booth different from other photo booths.

Our booths provide an experience from the time you inquire to the end of your event. We work with our customers on timing, custom overlays, and backdrops, provide booth attendants to assist guests, have fun props for guests to enjoy and enhance their experience, and much more!

5 Has anyone ever fallen off? Do you have any other funny wedding stories to share with us? 

The 360 camera definitely has some stories to tell. We usually only allow 2 people on the platform at a time because people tend to get on it and attempt to "put on a show". No one has completely fallen off but we've had people lose their balance or get pushed by the other person on it and have to quickly step off. We once had young men attempt to use our 360 camera while one held the other over his shoulder. Although funny, for safety reasons, we couldn't allow it.  

6. Besides weddings where else is this photobooth a great fit? 

Outside of weddings, we will do any event such as birthday parties, corporate events, holiday parties, baby showers, festivals, etc. 

7 Fun question- if you could be any superhero who would it be?

If I (Shayla) could be any superhero, I would be Storm. The power in her family is transferred from mother to daughter, I think that is fitting for us.

8. If you could meet any famous person- who would it be? 

If I (Shayla) could meet any famous person, it would be Michelle Obama. I love her elegance and grace, she's truly a phenomenal woman.
